Within this project I was asked to develop a portfolio of design ideas, using a range of techniques, in the theme of 'Florals and Organic Matter' I experimented with a range of drawing, painting, and printing techniques to test out different effects combining simple drawing styles with the more detailed mark making. As I developed through my portfolio I explored with different media and textured surfaces overlaying them to create unusual effects and patterns.

Skills For Making- Military
For my college project 'Skills For Making', I was inspired by the embellishments and embroidery of military. I chose military for my theme as I wanted to capture the shape, style, and patterns of what each military motif created in themselves. By using mixed media, drawing techniques and experimenting with fabric manipulation I wanted to see how it creates different styles and compositions of the motif making the decorative surface more prominent.
Sketch developements capturing patterns from the detailing of the different motifs.
Series of the same image ranging from the very detailed sketch to the effects created by free hand and opposite hand drawing using a mixed range of media.
Fabric Manipulation experimenting with different techniques and styles combining them together to make unusual surface patterns.
Skills For Making- Military
My Final Design
Being Inspired by decorative detailing I created a wearable art military garment. Combining differnt fabric manipulation techniques placing them in patterns and shapes of the military form I wanted to create a hint of a vintage worn and torn look but still adding a contemporary twist on the style I had captured.
